Is your inventory ready for AI agents to book?

A practical checklist for travel suppliers who want AI assistants to find, quote and book them directly, on their own terms. Forty-nine items across seven areas, from product content to the legal fine print.

Field noteAgent readiness is a packing tarp. Lay everything out before you push off.

What agent-ready means

An AI agent is a very literal customer. It can’t read between the lines of a cancellation policy, phone to ask whether the 7 AM departure runs in the rain, or notice that a photo shows a different boat. It needs your products, policies, availability and checkout in forms software can use, and it needs limits that you set.

Being agent-ready means an assistant can describe you accurately, quote you honestly and book you safely: directly, not only through an intermediary that puts its own brand between you and the traveler.

How to use this checklist

Mark each item done, partial or missing. Be strict; “partial” is the honest answer more often than people expect.

Work the groups roughly in order. Checkout comes fourth for a reason. An agent that can take payment but can’t state your cancellation terms is a liability, not a channel.

How it works

A sensible order of work

If you can only do a little this quarter, do it in this order.

  1. 01

    Write your policies as rules

Cancellation, change, deposit and weather terms per product, versioned and dated. Nothing else on this list works without them.

  2. 02

    Make availability honest

Connect to the system of record, add timestamps and holds, and separate sold out from on request.

  3. 03

    Expose read-only tools first

Let agents search, check availability and plan through Agent Gateway before they can book. You'll learn how they ask, and where your content falls short.

  4. 04

    Turn on checkout with limits

Quote, hold, confirm, with traveler confirmation, spending limits and a review queue for exceptions.

  5. 05

    Watch

Tag every agent booking, review failures weekly and re-run your prompt test set after every content change.
